TF 23* CNC porting or no?
i know CNC is better but is it worth it. If I decide to go with the non CNC will there be a big differance? Thanks
cnc is controled and repeteable. it does the same thing everytime. the program is set up to make the most flow. porting heads by hand is a hit or miss deal. still lot of heads have been ported by hand with good results if the porter knows what he's doing. for a street car i wouldn't pay for cnc work.

Get the bigger springs. That way you'll be ready for any cam you'll ever put in it, and you won't have to get it done later. The larger springs are fine with a smaller cam, but not the other way around.

as RB said run the bigger springs, you can always run smaller springs in the larger spring pockets but not the other way around. the last set of 1.5 lunati springs i bought cost 130 dollars and the last set of 1.25 lunati springs cost 50 dollars to give you an idea of the cost differance.

I had the 23* CNC heads with the bigger spring. I like them but when I found out that they were like 66 cc intead of 64 cc I was kinda dissappointed. I needed 60 cc and was going to have them milled but removing that much material on $1100 heads which would void the warranty, I returned them for edelbrock 6085s. The chambers look pretty cool but like all CNC heads that are CNC'd from a casting there were some parts in the chamber which still had the casting flash, although they were small areas.
I wish they had a performance head option that had the CNC chambers but was offered with 60 cc chambers. I would have kept those.

CNC of the combustion chambers would not have a significant effect on power. But the 66cc chambers would be excellent for supercharging applications because of the slightly reduced compression. TF 23 heads are excellent quality, the casting is great. My friend purchased the CNC chamber version for use with his procharger. Unfortunately I bought my AFR heads before these heads were released, could have saved.
