...having car trouble...been messing with the damn carb for the last couple days because the car was running like absolute crap....i tore the carb down, clean it and blew it out and reassembled it back to what the hollety book says

the car turns over and is getting fuel...that leaves me to spark....its not getting anything


what can get messed up on the inside of this distributer...???????i wish the guy who had this put in a damn hei...i know those things great

 

forgot to add before while it was running...the engine seemed to be missing........i would give it gas and it would back fire badly...the power valve and accelerator pump were changed just in case they happened to be bad

you do have a balast risitor inline with the power to the dist right?

 

yup...it has one...i am gonna check the module tomorrow...i didn't know anything regarding these....i am a hei guy...just learned you HAVE TO ALWAYS unplug the damn thing when doing electrical...sUxXoR

i know a dying module would make a car run like like complete drap...i know for a fact its the module...dammit!

 

had the same problem,must have shorted something.
this was 20 years ago though.
i just switched to msd
