A 350 and a 355 are the same engine, just like the 357. The last two are nothing more than a 350 block that has had maintenance to ensure proper function. If you want 11's NA, cubic inches are going to be your friend. The smaller the displacement, the more radical the engine will have to be. Basically, the smaller the displacement, the less streetable, or worse manners. A 383 would be easier to achieve the goal, but a 350 can make it without a problem at all. How radical do you want to be? What kind of trans is going to back this?

I did it with less than 400 rwhp and a full weight car on street tires and a 342 rear gear....

i was thinking keep the 700r4 or would it be better to get a 350 or 400 would the 700r4 be able to handel 450hp what could i do to make it handle the power. i was going to go to the super chevy show next year and just get a used 350 and build it from the ground up. since its not till june i'll have time to get the rest of my car done then start on the engine.

1/4 ET is really about torque, traction and weight.

Next season my goal is to run 130+ mph, dont really care about ET. Well, as long as I don't get kicked out for lack of roll cage! hah

375 hp or so, and the right suspension, and a good torque curve. Buddy went low 12s and should have hit 11s, but his tranny gave out on his best pass. He put down 370 hp and 360 tq. W/ the right suspension and converter it will go...
