How to tell total timing on 89 350 TPI EX coil.
Right now I've got base at 10* with scanner hooked up it reads between 15-16. On my scanner do I want Knock Sig/ Spark advance? or LV8/ Spark advance? or tell me what other modes to put in my scanner or any other ways. BTW scanner is an OTC

That's all you'll be able to see via the scanner while you're in park/neutral.
The total advance is in the chip, only way to see how much you're actaully getting, is plug the scanner in and take it for a ride.
The ECM gives advance based on input parameters, and in park/neutral, that's all you need revving the motor.
Sure makes ya crave to be able to just install a vac advance HEI to interface with the ECM, use a fuel trimmer and AFPR for tuning, huh?
But alas, we're in the age of burning eproms for tuning instead of screwdrivers and wrenches
