Hesitation and lack of power

My car is an '88 Iroc with a 305 TPI and 101,000 miles on it. After taking it out of storage this spring it has been hesitating in the low rpm's and not been as fast as it was last year. It sometimes has trouble starting and usually hesitates severely in low rpm ranges. Is this due to timing, fuel pump, fuel filter, it's driving me nuts!

Assuming you have fresh fuel I would start with the basic tune up stuff. New fuel filter, plugs, air filter, O2 sensor, CTS sensor, etc. These items are cheap enough and if they don't solve your problem it's not like the money is wasted.

Then if persisting check MAF, Relays, IAC, maybe even cap/coil/rotor.

Still persisting I would check the distributor pick up coil.

Thanks, I have already put new plugs, wires, MAF sensor, MAF relays, and the O2 sensor has been replaced within the last few years. This is what has stumped me for the last month. Thanks a lot I will definitely look at that.

Last year after I took my 88 out of my garage for the spring, I had the same problem. I ran down almost all of the old gas and then put 93 grade gas in it as well as some fuel cleaner, withing a couple weeks it was running pretty good, but then when I got a tune up, it is roarin now!!! I don't think that its anything serious. Good Luck!
