Spend $815 for me please
I was originally plannign on getting gears, but It will be a lot more than I thought, so Ive decided to just laod up on other mods.
I was thinking new coil, accell wires, shift kit, maybe lakewood LCA's, maybe SFC's. What woudl you do with the money...and dont give me your address.

89 camaro 305 tbi, flomaster 3 chamber cat back, gutted cat, Edlebrock TES Headers, Exhaust cutout, Edlebrock open element, 160 degree T-stat, and a Stage 2 FastChip.
2 kicker comp 12"'s, polk for the rest. Phoenix gold xs2300 to subs, kicker impulse 404XI to 4 speakers, pioneer DEH- P7000R head unit, and finally a 12 disc changer. Full leather interior from http://www.MrMikes.com

Cylinder heads. If you want to keep your street legal status go with the World Products S/R Torquer 305s. They're about $770 a pair, assembled, and should give the best bang for your buck. You've already opened up the exhaust side, now just open up the intake side and watch the Stangs in the rearview.

heads would help, but with the little old peanut 305 cam, the stock heads are not being fully utilized. If you never plan on going inside of it again, I would go with the cam. You probably have a lot of slop in the timing chain and fixing that alone would help.
Ok rewind here, where does it cost more than $815 bux to get different gears? The most I come up with is at the most is $500 bux and it cant be more than 315 bux to install...ok here goes...your rear end which is a 10 bolt 7.5 rear hopefully with 28 spline axles...if not $100 for a 28 spline axled rear (www.camaroheaven.com) $193 for gears (summit or jegs)...$79-99 for a zexel-torsen diff. (preferably a pull-off for $79) from SLP Performance and $120 for the install kit (summit or jegs) and if your gonna install a cam instead anything over 480 lift recommends 3.70 rear gears so if at all possible start with the rear end and work forward so you can get all the benefits of the cam...or the heads because sooner or later you will need to get gears......I'd get em first and I bet if ya researched around you could find cheaper....Just my .02.....carry on.

RB said It, Loud and Clear (as usual).
Our 305 begs for a bigger Cam, The peanut Cam dosent Do anything justice Except the EPA
Comp XE251H, XE256H, and XE262H would all be good choices, depending on How fast you Want to Go.
Cam, Matching valvesprings, new retainers and locks, New gaskets, new Intake For that TBI, new Timing chain, Get Do yourself a favor and use the rest of the $$ To Fix all that nickle and dime **** that Happens AFTER you install the cam, I think You Will be one Happy CAMper.

Blueiroc i dont agree that sooner or later he will have to buy gears for his diff. He did not even say what gears he has. And anything over .480" lift needs 3.73gears? If he has an automatic and the gears are too tall for the power he has, he just needs a looser torque converter. If he has a stick and doesn't have a low enough first gear he could buy shorter tires.
AS FOR THE YOUNG MAN AND HIS 800 DOLLAR COMMENT..I WOULDNT WASTE MY TIME CAMMIN THE 305..(BUT THATS JUST MY OPINION)....SAVE YOUR BILLS AND BUILD A MOTOR...AS 4 THE CAM/GEARS COMBOS+++i have to agree with the above....Ive gotten with it this long...91GTA 30 over 350, aerohead racing products heads, comp extreme energy 296 hydraulic 1.6 crane gold full roller, victor jr 750 holley headers, 3600 stall 350th 2.73 pos=8.50 1/8 mile on street tires with a 2.25 60ft (boiling the rear tires)...later went 8.17 with a 1.78 60 ft. E.T streetz..weeeeeeeee..plus side is...I CAN STILL RUN FASTER THAN 100 ALL DAY LONG!!!! and i gots LOTZ more than .480 lift...jus cuz summit sez so....doesnt always mean..hehehhonestly i really would like to wake it up with gears..thats my .02 NO OFFENCE BLUE!!

SFCs should be a necessity. Perhaps a cam. You could port the swirl port heads but I'd much rather save the money for better heads all together.

Don't worry your 305 is not bad.. The cam would be nice, but the more i think about it if you already have headers, exhasut and it has only 70K on it a CAM would help and be a cheap mod if you do it yourself. Don't forget the shift kit, MSD Ignition parts and the easy bolt ons...
