ok guys I just got my radio installed today and as soon as I did I came home and when I turned the engine off it started making some funny sound closest thing I can come up with is a ba-deep-aa-dup lol anyhow its like 4 tones 3 times over anyone know what it is? the check engine light doesnt come on or anything. or maybe its a alarm? my idiot lights next to the steering column does have a security light.I wish I could tell you more but Ive had this car a full week and Im used to 2nd gens anyhow they are the only otehr camaro Ive ever owned.

I hope its just an alarm and not the computer spouting out codes and yelling at me. the only thing is those its so d*mn anoying I dont think it could be jsut an alarm. its one of those things where it could only be an engine alarm going off, and not a security alarm

 

I have a Sony X-Plode CD player in my car and whenever I turn the car off it goes beep-beep and it does that 3 times.I have no idea what it does that for but I know that it is the radio.Not sure if it is the same thing your car is doing but considering you just got a new radio installed that could be the problem.Yes it is annoying but you will get used to it.If you dont want it to do that then just detact the face before u turn the car off(If the face is detatchable).

 

yup the face is infact I have the sony x-plod to I love it but the beep is gonna drive me up the wall.

There are ways to disable that.. check the owner's manual.

I've never seen one of those units, but on my Sony Xr-3750, while the car is on hold the sel button and press 6. Don't know if its the same for yours, but it worked on mine.

 

Thanks I wasnt sure if it was the car yellin at me or the radio. Ive only had the car like a week and im not sure what to expect out of it yet.
