Because the rebuilt compressor I have doesn't have a place to plug the other one in. I even took it back to Auto Zone to make sure it was the right PN. Anyone have any experience with this?

it will probably not work exactly as it is.

Compressors are extremely universal. The actual pump is the same across a very large number of applications, but various details are different. The one you need to look at is that nearly all replacement compressors don't have the high-pressure shutoff switch in the rear; instead they come with a metal plug. This is because there are so many varieties of switch.

You need to get the switch out of your old one and move it over to the new one. Without it, the clutch will not work.

Thanks RB! That's the kind of info I needed. Unfortunately I returned mine for the core months ago and I'll need to find a switch somewhere now. My dad just pulled an 81 Monte engine and ditched the AC so I'll check that first. Thanks again!
