ok, just put the new motor in.. started in up then shut it off....finished up odds and ends... now it wont start.. starter just grinds, so i took off starter had it checked at autozone and they said it wasnt putting out enough so i got a reman to replace it.. still same prob...it had 2 shims in so i tried that first... so far now i have tried no shims all the way to 5 shims (all the i had on hand) still no change.. when looking at it while trying to crank it .. the starter bendix (i guess that is what it is called) is sticking part way in the flywheel and not retracting back..and will not turn the flywheel at all.. i have turned the motor by both the crank pully and the flywheel and it turns.. so no seized motor... any suggestions on what to do? more shims or something else to check.. thanks for any help
