Gas Mileage?
What kind of gas mileage are you guys out there with TPI 5.7 liters (Almost stock) getting?¿ I just figured out my mileage, and I got about 11 miles per gallon (city driving). I put in almost 15 gallons of gas (the tank is only a 15.5 capacity tank)
and only went 174 miles. I know it isn't too accurate, because I had my foot into it a little bit, but that seems pretty bad. I guess I will get a little better idea if I drive like an old lady. LOL I was just trying to get a basic Idea. On a stock motor.
Thanks dudes
Mike

Smokin 1989 GTA- Bone stock except for exhaust. (no catalytic-stainless pipe into Flowmaster 2 chamber).
At it's best you should be getting between 17-21 mpg city, and around 25 highway. You should be able to go 250 miles (allowing for a safe "reserve") on a tank.
The first thing I would do is replace the O2 sensor and check to make sure the TCC is locking up. Then check the timing.

I have a 91 Z28 5.7 liter. I get about 10-11 miles to the gallon as well. I got a tune up and i had no idea my timing was set to 12 degrees, so he reajusted it back to 6, put in new fuel filter (old one was almost clogged shut) and got new bosch plugs. Gas mielage improved to about 11-13. I'm getting my o2 sensor replaced and the mechanic told me on the 350 a bad sensor could really mess up gas mileage.
