purge valve question

I have recently replaced my old TB for a nice polished unit from an 85 vette with the 350 tpi. I have a 1988 iroc 350 tpi and with inspection of the 85 vette vaccum specs the purgr valve line was not routed to the tb like mine is. I was wondering if there was another way to bypass the purge valve somwhere else with different fittings?

I don't have a 3rd gen TPI handy to look under the hood, but I believe (don't know for sure) that the vacuum line going to the engine can be hooked to any vacuum source that is full vacuum all the time. The factory did away with the zillions of lines and special vacuum ports of the older carbureted engines and just went with a full vacuum purge line hooked up to the purge solenoid which is under the electronic control of the ECM.
