Car died
I was headed somewhere after work and wile making a turn the car died. Initially I noticed the lights dimming and my "INFL. REST." light was on, and light were flickering. So I figured maybe the battery was dead or the Alternator was burnt. So, I took the course of asking a friend to jump me, let it run then tried to move it. The guage for the batter was just above the red lines and when I turned the lights on the bar dropped into the red lines so I parked it correctly and it died again. So im wondering, at the moment could it be the altenator or the could the battery just not be holding a charge (or not able to charge)? The soonest possible help is greatly appreciated, dunno if the car will get towed from its location or not. Thanks guys.

well, firstly... how much gas do you have in the car? That's what first comes to mind.
After that, check all of your fuses and fusible links.
What do you mean by "red lines" ? Take a multimeter to it and get accurate readings. You can take both your alternator and battery into an auto parts store and have them test them for you for free.
When the lights flicker on and off, it makes me think of a major ground coming loose as well. When the alternator goes out, it will run off of the battery until the battery can no longer fire the ignition and run all the rest of your components

hmm
Little more than a half tank, so thats good. I didn't think to check the fuses, which I'll have to do tomorrow morning when I get back over to the car.

It was all kind of sudden. Generally when I'm driving I keep an eye on the guages, an old habit of having driven older cars before. Everything looked fine...
