engine trouble

Im have trouble getting my engine started and running right. i didnt have any trouble with the engine doing this untill i put a new tranny in it. The car seems to flood when i try to start it. It will kick over but quit emedietly after. I took the spark plugs out and cleaned them up and they were sooked with gas, these are new spark plugs. I also had the car running just before i put the tranny in and it ran great. Can any one tell me whats going on or help me?

chances are that you bumped something or unhooked something on accident (or on purpose but forgot to hook it back up). Did you unhook your coolant temperature sensor, or oxygen sensor? What is your fuel delivery system? TBI, MPFI, Carb?

I have mpfi 2.8. When i put the tranny in my car the the engine was running fine for the 4 months that there wasnt one in it. It took so long to put a new tranny in the car because I have been spending more time with my child. What would those sensors have to do with anything? Would running the engine with tranny change the fuel delivery from the injectors because of the computer?
