Light **** broke! Cant turn off lights! Please help!

Last night I went to turn my lights off and the **** just kinda gave out. Now I have to SQEEZE my finger in there until the point at whicj it BLEEDS to hold the rest of the assembly in place while I turn my lights off. Whatever holds the thing in place back there isn't doing it's job anymore. What's the best way to get back there to fix it? Does the whole dash have to come off or just the guage cluster or what? And what exactly is back there that's supposed to be holding it in anyways? Please help! I have no skin left on 2 fingers.

The lightswitch is held on by a couple of screws, if I recall correctly... Anyhow, just drop the kneepad and you'll see a couple of screws attaching the plastic trim piece. Take those out and then the rest of the trim piece just pops off. Undo the wiring harness plugs from the lights, lighter, etc., and it'll come right out. You'll see...

Thanks.
The screws for the kneepad are in front of the fuse box panel right? Those big torx screws?
