help!!! wiring and vacum lines

i just swaped a 350 TPI into my 87 305 TPI camaro i put it in the car and conected most of the wires except one i cant figure out where it goes...its in the back by the fire wall right by the break booster its a two wire plug the wires are black and tan with a black line going threw it...i think the wire might be faded cause at the botom it looks like the tan wire might be purple...the wire is coming out of, i think, one of the black main wiring harness tubes because its pretty thick with alot of other wires in it...the plug has oil on it so im guessing it might go lower on the motor?

ok now for the vacume lines... the two nipples on the back of the plenum...what gets attached to it? i think the feul regulator goes to the smaller one but what goes to the bigger one?

i started the car it seems to idle fine now after i adjusted the valves but when i give it gas it seems like it wants to die and if i give it alot of gas it does die

Don't know about the wires.

This post has a vacuum diagram linked in the last 2 replys.

The large one should go to the brake booster. The smaller one is probably the one that goes to a T and splits off to the vacuum canister and the HVAC conroller (one side goes thru the firewall).

The Fuel pressure regulator should be connected to a small line that comes from the bottom of the throttle body.

Have you looked at the bottom of the plenum to see if the sensor there is connected.?

Trace back that wire going to the IAT sensor on the bottom of the plenum that you had to patch together. On a lot of the 3rd Gens that wire has a connector back where it attaches to the rest of the harness. It's my understanding that GM did it that way so a longer wire set could be used to get to the front of the throttle body for some of the MAF cars....

How long are the wires?
Can you verify the color of the wires?
When you look at the wires at the connector are they straight or bent to one side at the connector?
It would really help if you could get a pic of them.

What color are the wires that you have going to the "MAT" under the plenum chamber? They should be tan & black although on some cars they are tan/black & black. BTW, the connector for the ignition control module from the coil is the same as the "MAT" connector. Just a thought there. And as VernW has mentioned, the "MAT" harness sometimes has a connector in it to allow for a longer wire harness. My 89 Iroc has that feature.
