Iroc turns off!!!

I have a 1988 camaro iroc-z. It's 5 speed and I have 2 problems. First the car will turn off sometimes when I take it out of gear, and i'm forced to "bump start it" in the middle of traffic. And my other problem is when I turn sharp right turns or just right in general, the engine chokes; no engine power and no acceleration. After I'm done with the turn it goes back to normal.

Any one ever have these problems?
Can anyone help? Any tips will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

My initial suspicion would be the ignition and/or ignition power circuits. G-forces from turning, no matter how light, can cause wiring harnesses to flex and break contact at marginal connections.

You might be able to simulate the problem while standing still by flexing the engine wiring harnesses side-to-side.

It's also possible that the fuel pump and/or pump pickup has a problem, similarly causing loss of fuel pressure on turns.

I had a similar problem in a Fiero that would intermittently stall on braking:

I had the fuel pump replaced not too long ago, maybe it was installed wrong?

The only way to be certain is to monitor fuel pressure while cornering. Unless you have a very long pressure hose and guage, or a remote electric fuel pressure guage, that might be difficult.
