LT1 heads - Valve upgrade
Has anyone tried installing 2.0" and 1.55" valves in the aluminum LT1 heads using the factory seats?
I have been getting conflicting information on this from different sources, and I'm just trying to find out what the truth is about that.
Let me hear from you if you've tried it... Thanks

Sorry. I've only done the iron heads. 2.02-1.60" with no seat work, no problems. I've heard that they have to be replaced as well, but I've always wondered why the factory would have installed such small seats, then have to install a different seat for the LT4. Doesn't make economic sense.

Did you try asking on camaroz28.com? Those guys will let you know in a flash. Those heads have so much potential you can find an unlimited amount of combos that guys are running. You may even want to send an email to lyod elliot. He knows more about these heads than anyone. He also installs larger valves as part of his port stages.

I posted on another board and got Lloyd Elliots # there. I've been in contact with him and found out what I need to know.
He's got an impressive track record with the LT1 heads, I think I'll send my heads there...
