Is my fan motor dead? NEED HELP WITH THIS *TONIGHT*
For a while now, my fan wont turn on automatically becuase i need to replace the relay, but up until now i could always just turn on my air conditioning and the fan would come on. But now my fan wont turn on when i turn on my A/C, so it is NEVER on, and my car is overheating when i drive around town. I think the fan motor might have gone out, but could it be anything else? I need to get this fixed tonight so try to reply if you can help me.
It could be the relay.
Try grounding the green wire coming off the fan, that should switch it on.

Fresno... oh joy! Not a good time to be running around without a fan in Fresno! So how is Fresburg?
Anyway... Sounds like the motor died. The connector has a ground and a power lead, its really simple. Take the fan off (another easy job) and hook one end to power, one to ground. Make sure your fingers arent in the way
. You can do it on the car too, but its a little harder to get at.
I think the last fan motor I got was about 40 bucks. Its easy to change.
And after re-reading...
The AC wont turn the fan on with a bad relay, the AC has to tell the relay to turn on, just like the fan switch or ecm does. That could be suspect as well.

Well, I took out the fan and tested the motor, and like i thought, it was dead. So i replaced the motor ($30) but when i was putting the motor back on the fan, i broke off a couple of these little things that hook the fan blades part onto the motor. Now i have to go find another fan somewhere that will fit this motor i have.
