Moral AC dilemma! need sugestions!
Ok is not really moral it's just a dilemma!
Its 9:00Pm and 91deg.
A few months ago I filled up my Fbird with 134. I knew nothing about this ac system since I just bought the car. Well it all leaked out in a day
! Thanks to Vader and Ede helping me to confirm it's going through the compresor. I did put cheap stop leak in but I was too late
25$ down the crapper. 30$ incuding the sl.
Well I finaly pulled it off tonight there was a brief 1sec Phhhhh, confirming the system is dry. Well the compressor is off and the stop leak did make it through the system. Autozone has this stop leak thats 20$ thats suposed to work on the seal behind the cluth as well as any other leaks. So should I just pop the compressor back on and use the expensive stop leak? Or should I buy a new seal tackle the clutch removal and replace the seal and pray it doesnt leak? Has any one used that stop leak? I forgot the name but its a very new product so none of the parts jockeys know anything about it. I just cant see spending 160$ on a new compressor since the cluth has to be replaced, for some reason I cant seem to buy a complete unit.
Thanks.

Well I found a kit. It was a PITA to get the old ceramic seal out. The kit came with a rubber seal. I put the thing back togather 3 cans of 134 1 can of 4 oz can of stop leak&detector&oil, and a 4 oz can of oil. It's cold for now but well see in morning.

You could prolly pick up one in good shape at the junk yard...
I would also go to Pep Boys and pick up the proper 'captured' o-rings and change all of them. Also change the orfice tube on the high pressure side of the evap core. It would prolly cost less than expensive stop leak that prolly won't work anyway. There's a different sizes of o-rings used at every connection, but pep boys has all of them usually in stock..
