My speedometer is totally screwed up....
I swapped out my old 85 MPH speedometer from my 1984 Camaro and put in a 115 from an 88 or 89 RS Camaro. At the same time, I put in a speedometer gear in the trans from an 85 IROC used for the 16" rims and a 3.23 rear. I have a 3.27 rear in there now with 16" IROC rims with P225/60R16 tires (previous owner put that odd size on).
Anyways, my speedometer reads about 45 when I am really doing 30 and about 60 when I am really doing 40. I opened up the speedometer before I swapped it in in order to change the odometer to match my vehicle's real mileage. Could I have screwed something up in there? Or is it just a bad speedometer? Also, it reads 10 when I am stopped. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The new speedo is slightly screwed up. You need to pull the pointer off and put it back so that it points to zero.

But, if it's just a matter of resetting the needle, why would the readings be that much farther off the faster I go? Thanks.
