305 to a 383
305 to a 383
OK correct me if I'm wrong, but if I pull my LG4 and bore it .060 that will make it a 350, right? Then if I drop in a crank from a 400ci engine that will make it a 383.
Thanks

The 305 bore is 3.736, the 350 bore is 4.000. There's no way you can bore a 305 over ¼". It's risky enough to try to take one .060" over, alot won't make it.
If you take a 400 crank and grind its mains down to 350 diameter, then put it in a 350 block, you come up with a 377. Bore the 350 block .030" and that becomes a 383.

I was wondering how to to that in print.
I want to do it a lot.
Turning down the mains on a 400 crank and installing it into a +.030 305 block makes a 334.
