Will one bad sidemarker-bulb-housing disable turn signals?
I have replaced all the bulbs that didn't work except the front passenger sidemarker. The housing is all corroded and nasty. The copper peices have been calcified and crumbled out when I removed the old bad bulb.
Now all sidemarkers work, except obviously the F.P. one. Will that 1 bad connector disable the whole turn signal system?
Does anyone know where I can get a new connector?

I know that part, but all the bulbs on the left side work. But only that one bulb on the right side isn't working. So will that one bulb not working disable both sides?

depends on which marker light it is.
on my Formula, I have the drivers side fender light out and my blinkers work fine, if the rear tail light one or the front one next to the headlight goes out then my turn signal indicator will stay lit and the blinkers won't blink.

So let's say I fix the sidemarker connector and it lights up but the turn signals still don't work and the fuse is good, what should I look at next, the turn signal cam? Does that cam work the hazards as well?
How hard is the cam to install?

this used to happen all the damn time on my 86 i used to have.....a front park light kept burning out, and everytime i turned on my blinker on that side, it just lit up and didnt blink
when it first happened i thought something was really wrong...but over time, i figured out just to change the $1 bulb

But because of that one bad housing, the turn signals do not work at all. No blinking, no light coming on, no ticking sound. Nada.
So is it the turn signal cam?

The only time they light up and blink is with the hazards are turned on.
If you examine the circuit to see how the lamp filaments load the turn signal heater element (to cause it to open and "flash"), the side markers do not affect the signal flasher directly. The fact that you have no flashing on either side would indicate a problem with the flasher, switch, or possibly the brake lamp switch.
What model is this? Is it a Camaro or early Firebird with the export type (yellow) rear turn signals? That could be a little different.

So, you have all red tail lights, with the two innermost lamps that operate as turn/brake lamps, correct?
I'm not certain how much difference there is between your '91 and my '86 (from a body wiring perspective), but I just checked mine and the signal lamps WILL flash with the front side marker lamp completely removed. I would suspect that they would do the same with th erear marker lamps, since they are not even in the turn signal circuit.
As always, check all your lamps, grounds, and the flasher. If even only one of the rear lamps is out, the flasher may not operate.

It's not a lot of fun on my T/A, since the ground effects baffle has to get unscrewed and dropped to access the marker lamps. It's no big deal though, since I've been wanting to get a look under that area for a while anyway. I had a battery fail while it was in storage, and wanted to make sure the bottom of the battery tray hadn't been damaged by a possible boil over. Everything's cool.
Good luck hunting down your lighting problem.

I have yellow rear turn signals. Every light on the outside works. Except that broken housing. I will replace the housing, but does anyone know about the cam?
