Engien turns over ... but car wont Start!!!! WHY?

Hey guys,

I need help with this problem and I need it to be soved by Thursday of this week!

Here is my dilemma, a week or so ago I was feeling stupid and decided to take off the crossmember (I think thats what it is called) holding up teh transmission (thinking I was taking off something else). Well after I got it off and the tranny skumped 4 or 5 inches down, I tried to start the car and it turned over but wouldn't start (all the belts spun but no cigar).

Thinking I must have did something I dont' understand, next day I got the tranny back up into its original position and bolted it back in exactly as it was before. I go to start the car, exactly the same thing happens!

I am praying that somebody knows how to fix this becasue it can't be too serious, I didn't do anything major, I dind't even disconnect anything, why doesn't it start?

If anybody has ANY ideas on this, and I mean ANYTHING please respond....

BTW Could this be the ignition system, maybe a coincidence it stopped working teh same time I did all that ****?

Thnks for your help

-Max

You fragged the distributor... Hopefully just the cap and rotor and not the whole thing.

Did you look at it yet? Could be just the cap and rotor are done, those parts can be had for as little as 10 bucks for really really cheap chinese stuff. Figure on spending 40 for something decent. If the distributor housing itself got damaged, thats gonna run you about 150.

Ok, problem solved. While jacking up the car a couple of days ago I must have gotten a wire lose that fed power to the distributor. This morning I checked all the wires, found that one not totally plugged in, plugged it in and the car started. Thanks for the help, I am glad I don't have to replace the distributor.
