What is the M/C Solenoid.

I need to know what this is. I got a code 23 on a Lumina and I haven't heard of this before. Any suggestions would be helpful.

mixture control solenoid? its on computer controlled carburated cars.. The computer tells it to adjust fuel/air mixture. What is the problem?
