LG-4 timing

I have an 83 TA, 305 LG4, 4bbl, metric 200, no AIR or ECM. The car has about 100K miles on it. The only mods are headers, highflow cat and 3 inch catback.

Can someone tell me what the stock timing is for that motor and about how far can I expect to go with advancing it.

Thanx

I was going to give this a shot, then saw the "Canada". Non-CC, correct?

I know the CC timing is zero, can be moved to 6 if willing to go up in gasoline grade. For a non-CC, I'd guess around 10, but you should try that and other settings to see what works best for you.

i have the same set up, I run at 10 on 87 octane and at 15 on 89, never have knock but depends on rear gears a little due to load differences (like 2.93 compared to 3.73) and exhaust, but i have adj timing control from msd

After you advance the timing make sure to check your plugs every now and again to make sure you aren't running to hot and burning up the engine.
