when i start my car and let it idle it stays at 650 for anout 5 mins then it start to surge it go from 650 to 500 then to 1000 and so fourth it seem like it is trying to stay running by going to high rpms can anyone help me and tell what this problem is thank for any help

 

That sounds to me like one of your cylinders might be misfiring. It could either be the spark-plugs, the wires, or the distributor. I am not positive though, my car did something like that and changing the plugs and the wires solved the problem.

 

the plugs are 2 months old the wires jusat replaced and it still does the same thing i was thinking maybe a vacumn leak...i don't know but thanks for the info
