I was reading that other post about oil pressure being to low, i thought i should ask about my oil pressure, NOw i know when u start the engine it will be high, but mine is past the 60 Mark, and remains like that till about 15 min later, then it will still run a little below 60 when actualy driving it, say 2000 RPMS or maybe more. IS that bad?

Is this a new motor? did you go with a HV pump?

60 is not 2 high. The relief valve should be preventing any higher. What weight oil you running. What's it at when fully warm at ldle?
As long as your not blowing filters off or whipping to much air into it, ur ok.

Not necessarily high volume, but high pressure. Melling makes three pumps for the small block that would generate 60+psi of oil pressure. Someone may have also changed the pressure regulator spring in the stock pump to a high pressure spring. If this has always been since you have owned the car (or engine) and its nice and steady don't worry. 60psi is good, better than a more stock 25-40psi.

Bad Oil Pressure Sensor. When they go, they do one of two things....don't read high enough...or read too high.

10 psi of pressure for every 1000 RPM is a good bench mark. My advice is to buy an aftermarket gauge if you're really worried.
