V-belt vs. Serp.

Hey guys got a question for you. My car is going on a diet. I'm thinking about ditching the serpentine system for my car and switching to a v-belt set up. I'm not running smog or A/C and I wanna open up the engine bay more(less weight). If I do swap, can I keep my current alt. and power steering pump by just changing the pulleys? What are the best spots to have them(mid mount, High mount alt.)? Pros/ cons, advice all welcome.

You can't keep your water pump, because it will need to turn the opposite way.

Sounds like a good downgrade to me. Want to save weight? Get an aluminum water pump.
