My car won't start

I have an 88 Firebird formula. I was going to a friends house and passed up his house, so i put it in reverse and i pushed the peddle a little to hard and my tires started spinning my car hopped and then died, now it won't start. The only things on the car that work are the interior lights and the headlights and when you turn the hearlights off they don't close like their supposed to. The car doesn't turn over or make any sounds it just sits there. I need to get it running so i can get to work any help would be appreciated

ignition module, it would crank but not fire.

alternator, would run your battery down until the point it won't run.

not many things will prevent it from turning over, all it really needs is voltage to the starter. if you just hit the key and it goes *clikc* it's either low voltage at the starter or bad solenoid..

low voltage can be caused by bad cables or bad alternator

Bad alternator - you used up most of the juice in your battery from starting and/or driving around, but there is enough left to turn on lights, just not to crank it. Just an idea.

rezinn, i agree..

probably his voltage regulator went in his alternator..

surprisingly, headlights and interior lights take little juice, it takes alot of CCAs to turn over an engine..
