The best cam to get
I have an lg4 305 completely stock and I would like to put a hotter cam in it, which would you guys suggest. It will be driven almost daily but I also want to scare the mustangs that have been so embarasingy in front of me on the local cruse strip. I also have a few parts just lying around for small blocks, like an edelbrock performer intake and 350 heads, a 400cam normal style hei distributor and a fully built 427 (bored 400) but that engine is going into my 1970 chevy pickup. but i also have another lg4 available to me for free if i want the extra parts, of which a man never has too many parts right. But if you guys have any suggestions as far as how i could build this thing with the parts i already have that would be great, oh and by the way the intake has the Holly/edelbrock mounting pattern on it, will the computer contolled carb fit?and can i elimanate the carb and put on a regular carb? Just wondering.

A cam and an intake manifold swap on an LG4 are hardly enough to whip Mustangs. An L69 may have a better chance, but that all depends on what year Mustangs are in question.
Without changing other parts on the anemic LG4 (like the entire exhaust system and heads) I wouldn’t recommend anything more than a cam with ~200* duration. Torque is the only thing that you could possibly make without changing those two things (along with the cam and intake manifold), and a cam any bigger than that on a 305 would cause torque to drop quickly.
Ssimply saying
is a little too vague to tell us anything to help you. What 350 heads? What are the specs on the cam? What is the part number on the intake manifold?
As far as your more specific questions.....
Not without an adapter plate.
Yes.
