Another TPS question

At this point, I just want to verify that I have 5 volts of reference voltage coming into my tps. To test this, can I simply unsnap the connector, stab my pos probe into the top port of the connector, and ground the neg probe and check for 5 volts ? This won't fry anything , will it? It'll be a whole lot easier than hooking up those pesky jumper wires.

Thanks

if you dont have a tester with the sharp needles just poke some sewing needles into the back of the connector rather then using the jumper wires.....

I beleive the bottom terminal is the reference and no there should be no problem testing it the way you want to...

Hope this helps

I have the tester with the sharp probes, so I can just insert it into the appropriate terminal, and make sure it has contact on that metal tube inside the terminal. I think the top terminal is the reference voltage, and the bottom term is the ground. I just want to make sure I can probe any of the 3 terminals on the connector, ground it, get my voltage reading for that particular terminal, and not hurt anything.

I've already done the jumper wire test, and already set my tps idle to 0.50V. Just want to test the reference voltage for 5.0 v .
