Timing Chain Hopped a Tooth ?

I've posted recently about getting codes 15, 21, 33, and 53. My poor driveability started all of a sudden, at startuo, one day. At first the only code I had was a 53, high system voltage. Could it be that the timing chain hopped a tooth, and the 53 code and the other codes were the result of the valve timing being so whacked out that the computer was trying to compensate for the mixture being so off, that it told sensors to have higher voltages to compensate, then started throwing all these codes?

I heard that we have a nylon cam that is involved with the timing chain somehow, and that this nylon cam wears out around 110,000 to 140,000 miles, and lets the chain hop a tooth. I have 134,000 now.

Could it be the chain? Runs real rough, stalls out when you slow down. Runs OK at around 40 mph and higher.

Maybe a loose connection somewhere.I suspect one little evil sensor that is giving you that prob. If your RPM is higher than normal...then a bad Air Control Valve.Have you also checked your MAP sensor,EGR valve, and Engine coolent sensor.I had the same prob...and was the Air control valve, that looks like a joy stick with a spring.

After I drove it 2 miles I got a code 15 (cts) and 21 (tps). This was in addition to the 53 and 33 that are always there. I reset my codes, adjusted tps, started car, now the 15 and the 21 are gone, but the car doesn't run any better. Maybe if I drive it another 2 miles my 15 and 21 will come back. I'll put in a new cts this weekend, I think, and see what happens. I'll make a big list of what I've done so far and post it some time on the board.
