how much $

I am just curious to see what an L03 engine with about 126,000 miles would go for? It runs great, doesn't use oil, and would be everything from intake to oil pan, including the headers. I have been considering a swap to a 350, but just don't know what I can get out of the stock engine. Thanks for any help on this.

Axle/Gears: need 3.73
Not much call for an LO3 longblock with 126,000 miles. YOu could try for $200.00 but that's pushing it.

Sad isn't it?

I guess the market isn't asking for our engine. Still, if you are after performance you would be best served eating the core and getting a crate (at least that what everyone tells me).

Me? I'm keeping the L03 in my car. The performance suits my needs (read as a lack of a performance need) and I am moderately pleased with my gas mileage on the road. 25 MPG in CA with gas @ close to 3 bucks/gallon is freakin' madness.

you'd be lucky if you don't have to pay someone to haul it off. you're best bet is to find a scrap metal dealer that'll give you a few dollars for it. if you can find someone to pay you for it take the money and buy loto tickets because it is your lucky day.

I'll tell you what I'll give you for it:

If I catch you dumping it on my property (in other words, "giving" it to me) I'll let you pay me $100 not to shoot you.

I don't think you'll be able to get much for it. Basically, if anyone will give you anything at all for it, at least more than its weight in cast iron when it's already been hauled to the scrapyard, you're doing better than average.

They do have some use though. RB stated a long time ago that you could throw in into the ocean so that fishes and sea creatures could have a place to live. You could start a reef made out of LO3's.
