Temp Guage not working, where is the sensor?

My temp gauge stoppped working after i installed my crane 2032 cam. I thought the sensor was in front of the manifold but turns out that doesn't control the guage and my chilton is showing it somewhere on the block by the motor mount. Im lost, cant find it... can someone please help?? Thanks! Need my temp gauge!!

Im guessing you mean drivers side head? Since the number 1 plug is on the drivers side.... which would be on the right if you face the motor... ?? Just making sure, I didn't see any sensor there, but I will double check

Actually, it's right around the 6th and 8th plugs, passenger side head. Easiest to get to from the bottom of the car, but expect some coolant to drain out.

Actually, ede is correct. It's on the drivers side head, between the #1 and #3 plugs. You can see it from the top.

The switch on the passenger side head by #6 and #8 is for the fan.

When referring to sides, left is the driver side, and right is the girlfriend side.

While we're on this topic.... does the temp sensor between the 1 and 3 plugs control the warning light as well as the guage ? My ex-mech ripped the wire off that goes to it when he changed my plugs. Would having this sensor disconnected affect driveability ? I would guess not, since the ecm would read the cts in front of the head , for temp readings, right ?

Guage temp sender is on the drivers head. Look imbetween the headers. The sensor on the passengers side is for the fan if you have TBI. Not sure if you have TPI because I know there are 2 fans and they are controlled by the ecm. The ecm reads off the cts which is on the front of the intake manifold.

Okay, I'm a bit confused...

What's the sensor in the passenger side head, what's the sensor on the intake manifold, and what's the sensor on the driver's side head?
