Pitfalls of fuel leak down
Pitfalls of fuel leak down
I don't hold pressure on the fuel rail for over 45 minutes. It's down to 10 psi after about half an hour. My car seems to run fine..Other than always feeling too slow but that's most likely in my head. Are there any disadvantages to not having it hold pressure over night like most people can? I had the o-rings replaced when I got the base ported. Thanks!

Fuel injectors leaking down, as they worsen, can cause the same effect as flooding on a carbed car. Mine would run well until I turned it off. Then on restart it would barely run.
Consider having them flow matched and balanced by Rich at Cruzin Performance
...makes a lot of difference, almost like a mod. Also it could be your fuel rail o-rings themselves which would be about 20 bucks for the set.

the leak down isnt always injector related, it may be leaking back past the pump or the fuel press regulator. Mine has the same problem and I have all new injectors, and no puff of black smoke or anything like that if there were too much gas in the cylinders at start up, according to the GM repair manual you can pinch the hoses that lead into the fuel rail at the front to determine which is the case, I dont remember exactly which determines what but if you pinch both lines and it still leaks down then definately the injectors but if you do one or the other it means either pump or regulator. Ill have to dig it up unless someone knows for sure which it is.

I guess it would depend where it's leaking down at. If it's just leaking back through the pump, then it's not a big deal performance wise. It just might take a little longer to start. Anywhere else though, I'd look into getting it fixed like the others stated...it can only get worse.
