AFR heads vs Fastburn Heads

Will be using a ZZ4 short block...and a LT4 hot cam...my goal is 12s in the quarter mile N/A....and a 100hp shot of NOS to get me in the 11s....question is...should I wait for the vortec TPI base....or go ahead and get the AFR heads? Im interested in fuel economy as well as power. And i'll be getting the aluminum verisons. Another thing....im a bit confused as to what I need to buy...I think I will need 1.6 Roller Rockers....and lifters?? But theres a thing on AFR's site that is called Hydra-Rev Hydralic Roller Cam Rev Kit...what is that? And do i need it...basically....what besides the heads and cam do I need to buy to have a complete working engine (keeping in mind I would already have the small block, exhaust system, and intake system.

By looking at the "Hydra-Rev Hydralic Roller Cam Rev Kit" I really can't tell what it is.. I can't even tell what the picture shows.. With 1.6 rockers the lift on that cam is .525/.525, you can reuse your stock lifters if they are in good condition. Roller lifters are kind of expensive, otherwise.

You could get by with only the heads and cam if you reused your old parts, you just have to decide what you want to replace. Rockers are a cheap thing to get, but lifters can be expensive. Pushrods are pretty cheap as well. Do you have a new timing chain and gears? Gaskets? Im not sure if you are just tossing your old engine, or using some of the parts, there are many things you may need.

If anyone does know, I'd like to know that this "Hydra Rev" kit is.

Yeah...im going to be tossing my old engine...getting all new parts (timing chain, gaskets, all that stuff) I didnt even think about using my stock stuff....but I rather replace everything (105,000 miles on engine) But yeah...I thought if i bought complete heads...I would just need the pushrods, lifters, and rockers.

Here's the pics of the AFR Hydra-Rev kit installed in my engine:

What it does is take some of the load off the valve springs, and keep the lifters on the cam at higher rpms.

Any drawbacks to it? Judging from the numbers on their website..its pretty much only useful at high RPMs when racing......so I would think at regular driving times...it doesnt effect HP or most importantly torque? I do want to take the car to the track when im done...but it'll be mostly street driven (daily driver) so I want as much torque as possible while still keeping my gas effeciency up.

the afr hydra rev is sort of like an ignition rev limiter. It is designed to prevent a problem from happening. If you have a hydroller cam that you plan on spinning to more than 6000, it is a worthy investment.
I just found out that competiton products sells a similar kit for 90bucks. The kit is made by howard racing products.
