-O2 Sensor-

I am getting SLP 1 5/8 headers for my L98. These headers will have AIR and O2 sensor fittings to keep the car emissions legal.

My question is: To put the headers in, the oxygen sensor will be coming out. While it is out, I figure I should just get a new one to avoid having to do it later... is there any specific one I should get? I don't know much about these things. Will any specfic type of sensor give me any gains?

I just got my new one from my local Napa, and it works great. All of them are pretty much the same.

I'd step up to a heated sensor since it will sit farther away in the headers than it does in the exhaust manifolds. By being heated, it will perform more accurately in the cooler environment. In addition to the single wire, it just comes with 2 more that you need to hook to switched power and ground.

Do you have the part number for the heated sensor? Is it Bosch or another brand?

I always stick with AC Delco on certain things like sensors etc.

This is supposed to be a heated O2 sensor:

25312184 $62.00

But I have never verified it.

Got it! I drove the car for like 15 minutes and sprayed WD-40 and stuff, and it popped off (after bashing my knuckles into the alternator). I got the new one in an hour later because the engine was so damn hot. I just hand tightened it- that should be fine, right? Well my engine runs so smooth now. No more stalling, no check engine light, no RPM dips, and increased performance at higher temps!
