I need to order 1.6 rr's tonight to get 'em in time for the weekend. I have an '88 LO3 motor, and I'm going to mildly port the heads, put an LT1 cam in it, and want to install 1.6rr's. Will I need to machine anything to add the 1.6 rr's? I called Jegs and they said I need to machine the heads for it? I have no clue, do I need to do anything special to add 1.6 rr's? Please help.

 

If your new cam with the lift of the 1.6 rockers is over, I think .480" lift, you will need to have the valve guides shortened, or you will bend all your push rods the second you start it.

I'm running an LT1 cam with 1.6 roller tips and have not had any problems.
