water pump question
i installed an older 350 in my car and it came with a new water pump, the only prob is the outlet on the wp is way bigger than the inlet on my radiator. i am using a v belt setup and an alt. is my only accesory. i was told to use a wp for a 86 model because it would have the small outlet and have the right rotation for my v belt setup. i want to mount the alt. on the passenger side with just a regular alt bracket, will this bracket work with an 86 style water pump or should i just go a different route. this is mainly a going to be a drag car and simplicity is what i am looking for. tia

About any of the old water pumps have the outlet bigger than the radiator connection, when you get a hose it will be swelled up for this. I believe the pump should work ok for the alternator as long as the brackets are for the newer long style pump.

My alternator didnt hook up to my water pump at all IIRC (could be wrong though, been a lil since I removed it), the biggest problem in mounting my alternator was that the intake I was using didnt have the accessory hole on it.
