Intake Manifold Bolt Question...Odd.
Hey guys. I pulled my TPI base the other day and the back two bolts on the passenger side (#8 cylinder) that go through the coil and EGR solenoid bracket had a burnt crust on them and smelled of gas. I wouldn't think anything of it but none of the other 10 intake manifold bolts were this way. I had oil or antifreeze on some, but no burnt gassy crust. What gives? Thanks a bunch guys.

JI,
You may have extra fuel from an injector leak/flow problem on that cylinder. Testing injectors for leakage once they intake is apart is really quite easy. Just reconnect the fuel lines and injectors to the rails and energize the pump. A leaky unit will be fairly obvious.
Make sure you use a proper sealant on the bolts when you reassemble as well.

Thanks Vader. I got some Accel 23# injectors four months ago and installed them, and the reason I was into the intake manifold was because I had one that leaked. But it was on the #1 cylinder. I did the injector test with the rail pulled from 40 to 62psi with the AFPR and #1 was the only one I could get to leak. It's possible, however, that the bolts got that way during the 10 years the old injectors were in there. I was thinking something was wrong with the head, but who knows. Oh well, at least I got to port the base and I'm getting ready to paint her Daytona yellow! Thanks again, Vader.
