Flow Numbers

These are from a set of Pro-Topline Heads I just did a mild clean up job on. There 180cc Iron Heads. After Porting 185cc

Stock Ported
.100 83 .100 74
.200 139 .200 130
.300 187 .300 190
.400 220 .400 232
.450 234 .450 252
.500 240 .500 270
.550 245 .550 272

This is right after I went through them with the carbide cutter. Nothing else, no sanding rolls..etc I can post exhaust numbers later if anyone wants. I just went threw the intakes real quick and then flowed them. Just figured I would post this since there is so much debate of weather or not the Pro-Toplines Flow well. While these heads were down a lot from what they claim they flow. With just a little bit of time they can be made to flow decent

Those flow #'s look real good. Even out of the box there not too bad. If you could post the exaust flow (stock/ported) that would be great.

Ive been looking for a 180cc Iron Head with decent out of the box flow #'s. How is the quality of the heads? Did you order them from protopline.com or somewhere else.

Thanks
Frank

Frank I have not flowed the exhaust yet. Just Too many things to do. I do have the stock numbers. My buddy is a dealer for them so that’s where I got them from. I know they have had quality control problems in the past But they were bought out, so hopefully all that will be fixed now. Mine were fine except for the Flow being down. If you get them assembled get new springs they use junk. These heads are not done yet. Going back when I get some time to touch up the intake. Should be at or close to 200 at .300 and in the 240's at .400. I will post numbers when there done. Also if u wants, I can get a hold of a Digital camera and send you some pics. That way if you do get a set and try to port them. You can use the pictures as a guide line.

.100 55
.200 108
.300 145
.400 154
.450 173
.500 182
.550 185

I've been practicing some porting on a junk head this week. The carbide cutter I have is a tree shape with round end but the end is a little too narrow to get a smooth finish. I think I need more of a ball end to do the intake bowls. I'll have to get a couple longer cutters too cause keep hitting the seats with my die grinder.

I might just end up porting my stock heads. I'm not sure if I want to spend the cash on a set of heads anymore.
