Senser on right head ?

When I attempted to take the sensor out of the right side head (as your sitting in car) during my rebuild I broke the plastic part of the sensor. I brought the sesor in to napa and they told me it was a temp sensor. The sold me a new sensor but it is a different conection. The instruction stated that the old sensor were replaced with this one. It contains a new sensor plug to replace the one on the wiring harnes. My problem is that harnes wire is a one wire plug and the one that came with the new sensor is a two wire plug. Is this correct and how do I replace the plug with the new one. also is that sensor a temp sensor like they said. I am almost ready to start this new motor and I need the help thanks.

just cut the ends off the wire and the sender wire and use a male and female connector, or a butt connector

The one in the right side head is the fan switch.

There is only one connector style.

They mis-identified it and gave you a coolant temp sensor, such as should go in the water outlet, instead of what it really was.

Take it back and get the right thing. Which would be, "fan switch".... not "temp sensor".

That's a coomon mistake with parts guys, I would suggest one of these unless you're already done (maybe next time).

they're a little more expensive but they turn the fans on sooner keeping the car cooler in traffic.

Thanks Black. I did check out the web but they dont list that sensor for my car. I think I will call them and talk to a real parts person. ILike the idea of being able to have fan switch on earlier. I will see how it does.
