Looks like a heat shield or something under the lower intake in the lifter valley. Should I transfer this over to my new Edelbrock intake??

 

You might have a steel heat shield, or you might be looking at the cover that closes the idle air and EGR passages cast in the manifold. Do you have a TPI manifold?

Yeah it's a TPI manifold. I didn't even know about the shield because I didn't pull the intake off of my old motor, but by freak accident we had to pull one off of an IROC at work today and I saw it. Let's just say my jaw dropped. I'll pull mine tomorrow and see if I have one or not.

Most all stock intakes have them, its just a heat shield.

I don't think the edelbrock has the provisions for switching it over.

I wouldn't worry about it.
