Car: '89 Iroc Z
Engine: Chevy 350
Transmission: 700VR4
Estimated value of my 350?
I'm considering tossing the 350 and buying a crate motor that's all ready to go. (By tossing, I mean selling.)
Crate motors can be VERY expensive, although I'm not looking to get anything ridiculous. I just want something that'll be ready for some forced induction.
Before I go out and spend thousands of dollars on a new crate engine though, I'd like to see what you guys think my current engine is worth. The car is an '89 Iroc, and the engine is the 350 (the car is an auto if that helps any.) Although the odometer is showing 160K (well actually 60K, since there are only so many digits) the engine is a freaking BEAST. I don't know any of the history of the car, so I'm not sure if the engine has been rebuilt or had any work.
Anyways, what do you guys think the engine would be worth?
Also, where might I look (online) for some crate motors that would be good for a turbo or two? Thanks!

Depending upon how much you include with the engine, a couple hundred, perhaps. If someone offers you $500 and you don't take it, that's the day two fools met.

Around here "generally" speaking an engine with that type of mileage goes around $200-300 if in running condition.
Clean it up real good, make sure it does'nt leak/smoke and get as much as you can!!
