The more desirable one would be the GTA. They came loaded and have more comfort, thus a higher price tag.
For perfomance, I'd say the Formula simply because it's lighter. The later formulas were nothing more than the early year trans-ams (no gfx, power bulge hood) and lighter optioned (not always though) and had the ws6 (GTA's too)...
Just things like power antenna and power seats and stuff add some weight.
Of course motors and gearing factor in also.

yes, theres so much Luxury. The wonderful red guages, the 16 way power seats. 330 or so pounds of torque, the violent tranny shifting. the no oh crap handles for the passengers as they get thrown to the sides at every turn. the almost non working power windows, and pop-up lights. , non working power antenna. man i love me GTA. i just wish it had leather seats. the non-trunk. but just give me a year till i fix everything. i wouldn't sell it for any other F-body thought, execpt a turbo GTA!!!

You have to realize most of our cars are out-dated things start to wear down after a while... i just bought stock oem replacements for a lot of suspension parts and my car runs 100% better
I dont have any problems with power anything either

Get a GTA! I had to say that because I own one. Drive them and see what you like. You will probably like the GTA better. Everything works on my GTA. But I have fixed alot.
Later & Good luck on your car Quest
