ATTN: RB83L69- Do I need to ground this?
On the engine harness from an 84 Z-28 where the harness splits off to go to the choke and alternator connections, there is a little black wire with the type of terminal that is usually a ground. However, I don't remember removing this to pull the harness and the donor car ran fine. Do I need to ground this wire or should I just let it be? Sorry to put you on the spot but you always seem to have the solution to my dilemmas. Thanks in advance.

I don't recall there being a ground wire there... are you sure it's not the electric fan switch wire? The only ground that I can think of up at the front of one of these engines comes out of the computer harness, not the one with the alt wires in it.
It could be that. The car did have an electric fan and the kid that had it had already pulled the fan out for another car. If it is that, what should I do? Could I just wrap it in electrical tape or heat shrink and tape it to something to keep it out of the way?

You could do that, or just tuck it back into the sleeving... if your car doesn't have an electric fan, then that wire isn't hooked up to anything at its other end, so it's not hot or anything...
