People in 2.8's have said they can do it (with the addition to a new exhaust setup and new injectors)... I'd say just make sure your car is in tip top condition, maybe some mods and you'd have it.

A lot of HP, really skinny rear tires, a good shift kit or a combination of above.

FYI, with my L98 and my 255 Z-rated tires, I do not get a chirp in an upshift into 3rd. I do with my "snowies" on.

weight removal, near-empty gas tank, and a high rev at shift point.

I chirp into second, and sometimes into third when i floor it.

l98, billet servo and any s rated tire will do it. I chirp 3rd in my car down at sea level and i have super sticky tires. You may need to get more power to do it.

I have tires with all the tred burned off, lol

Ohh, chriping in 3rd gear, like crusing up the on ramp and flooring it hard and spinnign the tires before you jet off. I do these without any moods, but its usually only on two on ramps where there is lots of loss gravel and its cause I loose trackion for a brief moment, and I've been doing it to show off so much I've gotten it down on how to hit that spot just right.

I go to a great deal of trouble and expense to avoid doing that... for one thing, that's the sound of the tire store's cash register going "cha-ching"; for another, if the tires are spinning, the car isn't accelerating.

its just fun to chirp the tires. I say just remove the spare tire, low tank of gas, and gun it!

Hell... in wet wheather I'd be suprised if even the weak *** 2.5 Iron Dukes can't spin the tires. REAR WHEEL DRIVE ROCKS!

My car fishtails every time I shift to 2nd, and if I rev it up enough it chirps (and fishes) into third. I've got my v8 runnin a hydro th400. No other mods really, and it's in need of some real work, so it's not anywhere near the performance level it can be, but it still does it.

Let's not forget that the Thirdgen has also shared the lowly Iron Duke with the Celebrity.

I'm gonna have to call BS on the guys w/ LO3's chirping third. My modded 91Z LB9 will chirp second, but hellz no into third. Maybe in a few months when the Superramed trick flow headed 350 is in, but other than that I don't see it happenin!

I'm gonna have to agree with Jason. I have an LO3 which is moderately modified now and has 17x8" wheels with yoko tires all around and I can get a scratch in 2nd but not even close in third. My guess is that their right rear tire is almost completely bald..

There are a couple conditions in which it might happen: Worn out shocks, open differential, worn out tires, and a loose gravel road.
