Coil question,,,these extra wires are pissing me off !!!
I just converted to an open element and had to relocate the coil as it was mounted on the intake manifold right in front of the distributor. There are two sets of small wires with clips that run from the bottom of the distributor to the side of the coil and they are short and preventing me from getting the coil very far from its original spot. My question is what are these wires? Has anyone upgraded to a better coil and done away with these wires? I want this MSD coil but I’m not seeing any spot to plug wires into it. Whats the deal, and where is a good safe place and how to mount a new coil.
Thanks

Sorry I diddn't mean to confuse any one. If you just want to relocate your coil cut the wires and lengthen them.
If you want to use an after market coil, just hook both pinks (dist. and harnes) and both whites (dist. and harnes) to the new coil.

Thanks for the replies. Yes looks like i need to go to advance and get me some wire splicing stuff.
But now I'm thinking may as well get a new coil, cause this old one is old and just looks like crap. I read some other posts about coils and people were trashing accel and MSd.
Ive decided since I'm going to be moving things around and buying new stuff, I might as well get something GOOD,
any suggestions?
also on remote mounting, it seems like heat and vibration and water are what kills these things so i'm a bit worried about where and how to mount so it will last.
anybody got a pic or two showing remote mounted coils need ideas?
