pulling the heads

i wanna pull the heads off today most of the stuff is out of the way, it looks like i can get to all the bolts with dissassembling all the valve springs and what not i think, but when i pull off the head will the push rods like fall down? because i heard that when putting it back together u have to use the same push rods that were there before unless you buy all new pushrods i guess i'll have to lable them with tape or something. btw they are heads from a 79 or a 80 i think

The pushrods wouldn't go anywhere, but I'd suggest removing them before trying to remove the heads just so they're not in the way. You can leave the springs, rockers, etc. on the heads to pull them. Make sure you've disconnected all the sensor wires and any ground straps that might be attached to the back of the heads.

The machine shop does.

In order to do that you will have to have the heads taken apart. Unless you already have that planned. In order to save some money you can do that yourself.
