Junkyard 350
Ive had enough of my L69 305... I think its a great motor, but with 110,000 miles on it and it being a daily driver i rele dont see the point in dumping more money into it, plus I dont have the time to take it off the road to work on the motor. I have a few ideas and I am looking for some reccomendations.
- Buy a used 350 and rebuild the short block and buy vortec heads+crane cam. (A machine shop would rebuild the block)
- Buy a new shortblock and put the same heads + cam.
- Buy a new GM crate engine.
The most I have ever done to my L69 was take the heads off and put them back on (and everything that entails) Also headders and water pump.
The reason I do not want to built a shortblock is because those are unchartered waters and there is too much that can go wrong. Id rather just have one and start from there.
So I need you guys to help me out, i am open to any ideas, i was thinking of a stock gm shortblock (4-bolt), a comp cam, vortec heads, edelbrock intake, holly carb. I want to stay basic and brands ive herd of and trust.
Does anyone have any ideas/recomendations/explinations to this build? Also how will this affect the computer in the car?
Thanks alot, im going to need you guys every step of the way
